Landmatters

As part of our commitment to the environment, here at Lightbeing Creations we are very pleased to be working with the lovely folk at the Landmatters Permacultre Project. Landmatters is a co-operative that owns and manages a 42 acre holding at South Hams in Devon. Working to a strict permaculture design, their goal is to manage the land for the benefit of bio-diversity and wildlife, whilst providing for many of their own needs for community, food, water, energy, shelter, creativity, transport and waste management. They are also developing land based livelihoods, reducing their ecological footprint and acting as an educational resource for the wider community.

So what's the connection?

While we here at Lightbeing Creations are doing all that we can to reduce our consumption of resources and our impact on the environment, we realise that it's not possible to have zero impact. Where some other hosting companies look to Renewable Energy Certificates in exchange for the dirty electricity they use and Carbon Credits to offset their other impacts on the environment, we wanted to have greater control over the process. So we are very pleased to announce that beyond reducing our consumption of resources, Lightbeing Creations will annually assess our environmental impact, then plant trees at the Landmatters project in Devon ourselves to go towards counter-acting the effects of our business.

The reason for this is that we feel, through working directly with a sustainable project, here in the UK, we will be able to see for ourselves the positive effect our actions are having. To add to this, you will be able to see the effects too, by contacting the lovely folk at Landmatters and arranging a visit, or partaking in one of their courses.
