Sometimes, pre-packaged hosting plans just aren't enough to meet the demands of a high-traffic website, resource intensive multimedia site, or complex e-commerce site. If your website demands higher dedicated resources, then having your own server is for you.

A dedicated server from Lightbeing Creations is based around the same redundant VMWare infrastructure as our standard hosting packages. Featuring our 99.9+% uptime guarantee and 100% Solar powered.

How it Works

You choose the operating system, along with the features you wish. After installing the software, we will send you your login details for your new dedicated server. From there, you have complete control over your server configuration and administration, able to install the software you need and to configure it to your own specification.

Don't worry, if you haven't the experience to manage your own dedicated server, then let us know and we'll be happy to manage it for you. If at any time you have questions or concerns, contact our support team and we'll be happy to help out.

Disk Space and Bandwidth

Each of our dedicated servers starts off with 40GB disk space and 500GB monthly bandwidth, but should you require any additional this can easily be added for a nominal monthly charge.

Additional bandwidth is billed at £5.00 (ex VAT) per GB per month.

Please note that to expand the disk space on your dedicated server will require a reboot.

* The free domain is for the life of you having the server with us. If you no longer need or want your server, or move to another company, our standard domain registration charges will apply.

Cost and Ordering

The cost for 1 dedicated server is from £300.00 (ex VAT) per month** which includes 500GB (equivalent to 1.54 Mbps consistently) of monthly bandwidth and 40GB disc space. There is also a one time setup fee of £150 (ex VAT).

Backups and Monitoring

You have two options on how to manage the backup of your dedicated server:

1. Our clustered NetApp SAN network automatically takes snapshots every hour of all our servers, including your dedicated server. These snapshots are for emergency use only and allow us to fully restore files in a matter of minutes. Snapshots are rotated and we keep the last 20 hours, along with the past 2 nights worth. This service is free for all customers and is automatic.
2. We can backup your server over our gigabit local area network, onto our redundant backup NAS servers. This option needs requesting and is chargable. Contact us for further details.

Using VMware's VMotion technology, your server will benefit from zero downtime. If there is a problem with the physical server that your dedicated server resides on, the system will automatically move your running virtual machine from one physical server to another, with no impact to users, allowing maximum resource availability to your server.

All our servers are monitored 24hrs a day, by multiple Ipswitch What’s Up Gold network monitoring software. These will take evasive action before problems arise and alerts our engineers, allowing us to be proactive and so avoiding problems and downtime.

Email

While you are of course free to install and maintain your own email system on your dedicated server. You can alternatively choose to have it hosted on our fully managed email platform, as with our standard hosting plans. You will benefit from the same Advanced Spam & Anti virus protection and Advanced Groupware Webmail. With our hosted email, you have complete control over all your domains and their e-mail/alias addresses, and spam filtering administration.
